For supervisors, co-workers, and neurodiverse employees
This workshop increases an awareness of how neurodiverse brains work differently. We will examine common differences for ADHD & Autistic people, and explore how those differences show up as challenges or as strengths depending on the environment and the work. In doing so, we'll touch on where our standards for "normal" performance actually come from and who they were designed to serve.
Participants will leave with a clearer picture of why the same person can struggle in one context and excel in another and what that means for how we design teams, workflows, and expectations. We will explore how to lead with curiosity about our brains so that we can move past asking people to conform and start asking how to align.
You'll explore:
Common differences in attention, processing, sensory experience, and executive function
Why "trying harder" isn't a strategy and why seeking alignment is better than conformity
How environment and systems either create friction or unlock potential
The difference between accommodation and genuine inclusion
What it looks like to lead with curiosity when it comes to our brains.
